Entrepreneur Visa Extensions

Time is running out to extend existing Tier 1 Entrepreneur visas, with applications closing from 5th April 2023. The extension application process is complex and time-consuming. We recommend contacting our lawyers promptly for support in gathering the required evidentiary documentation and preparing your application ahead of the deadline.

Individuals currently in the UK on this visa may be eligible for indefinite leave to remain (ILR) but applications must be submitted before 5th April 2025. The Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa is being replaced by the Innovator route. Click here to read more about the UK Innovator visa.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve applied for ILR – can I leave the UK?
No. If you have already submitted your application, you cannot leave the UK until you have received a decision. If you travel outside of the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands, or Isle of Man during this time, your application for leave to remain will be withdrawn.

The initial Skilled Worker visa will be issued for up to three or five years, depending on the length of the CoS. When the visa is due to expire, you can apply to extend; there is no limit to the number of times you can extend the Skilled Worker visa as long as you and your job role remain eligible.

This visa is also a viable route to UK indefinite leave to remain, so you may want to consider this option when your Skilled Worker visa expires.
