- If you want to extend your stay in the UK on this route, you must apply before your current visa expires and must be in the UK at the time of application.
- Family members (or ‘dependents’) can apply to join you in the UK, or to switch or extend their existing visas. They do not need to be in the UK at the time of application.
- To obtain an extension, you must still be working for the same employer as when you were initially granted the visa. Furthermore, the overseas parent company’s headquarters must still be located outside of the UK.

The current cost to extend this visa is £719, when applying from within the UK. Dependents applying to extend their visa from outside the UK will pay £625 per applicant.
How long can I stay in the UK on a Representative of an Overseas Business visa?
Your initial visa will allow you to remain in the UK for up to three years. When your visa is due to expire, you can apply for an extension which will grant you a further two years in the country.
